We are pleased to announce that the University of Utah's George S. Eccles Student Life Center was awarded the 2015 American School & University's Educational Interiors Showcase's Bronze Citation for its outstanding interior environments in Physical-Education Facilities/Recreation Centers.
As a leader and specialist in Student Life Centers since the mid-90's, MHTN asks from a student's perspective what they want on campus and how they can call it a place of their own. The new George S Eccles Student Life Center and Ray and Tye Noorda School of Dentistry take student life to a whole new level of design and healthier living for its students at the University of Utah.
The VOA Youth Center is designed to provide a safe and healing environment for the homeless youth of Utah, while contributing to the surrounding Granary and Central 9th Districts. The Center strives to be a model for the future, founded on ideas of choice, dignity, and acceptance--a model conceived by the young clients themselves:
“When the community sees the new VOA Youth Center, I want them to think that it is life changing, productive in helping youth take the next step to a better life" - a homeless youth, 2013
"Who couldn't use more culture - or learning - in their lives?" asks Editor-in-Chief Cindy Allen in the 2014 Interior Design Magazine's Best of Education & Culture publication. "Some of the most innovative and creative design work today is being done in institutions of learning, places of worship, summer camps and science labs - fostering community and enriching the lives of its occupants."
MHTN is proud to be a part of 2 of the top 9 interior designs for higher education in 2014.
